Virginia Beach, - and a state of emergency!!

We stopped to take photos of Virginia Beach, and paddled in the surf.  Virginia Beach is pretty posh.

We found an out-of-town beach and went to have a look.

This is how Tim did it.  He went in, up to his ankles.

This is how Ruth did it.  She went in, about the same distance!

This was NOT meant to happen. It was one of those unfortunate moments that I just copied what my husband did and it was a mistake. At the moment that a huge wave was coming up behind me, Tim didn't think to warn me but managed to get a photo AFTER I was soaked up the waist!

The weather here in Bertie County, North Carolina (and Norfolk, Virginia) has been messy and VERY wet.  They even declared Bertie County to be in a State of Emergency as there had been about 20-30 cms of water fall in 72 hours!
We think we were filmed for Channel 12 TV as we drove through flooded roads.
We learned later that day that they closed Route 17 soon after we went through Merry Hill, - the route we used.
