Good advice Dan.
Harvey bravely coped with all the mountain roads that took us to Linville Falls.
A very picturesque little place with a church, restaurant, general store, and a post office.
Cute general store.
Oh, AND a jail. Yes, a jail
Seriously?
We met an old couple coming out of the post office who advised us what to see and how to get there. We took their advice and went to find Wiseman's View. It is a vantage point overlooking the gorge, the biggest canyon this side of USA, I believe.
Then we retreated back to find the Linville Falls.
A lovely set of waterfalls. Definitely worth a visit.

Linville Falls. Can't really capture it well on camera.
We walked in stifling humidity to the various viewpoints on the falls. As we turned round to come back to Harvey, the heavens opened. Thunderclaps were heard, and we got soaked to the skin.
The woods and forests smelled wonderful.
Seen on many trees as we travel.
Flora and Fauna
The temptation was to shelter under a tree, but by now we were soaked.
So, who cares? If you are wet anyway, what difference does it make if you get a bit wetter?
We carried on until we reached Harvey.
Showered in Harvey and made ourselves a cup of tea, then went to the RV park nearby.
While we have been here, the noise of the crickets, or locusts, or critters, or whatever has been amazing.
Ruth was a bit scared at first when she heard the noise, because it seemed to move around all the time.
Here at Linville Falls the noise was incredible.
If you can play this 30 second clip, you will get the idea.
